Photography Of The Day – Basilica of San Bernardino, L’Aquila

The church was built, with the adjacent cloister, between 1454 and 1472. The corpse of St. Bernardino da Siena is guarded inside the church in a mausoleum and it was declared a Basilica Minor in May 1946 by Pope Pius XII.
