The camera has been developed using the translucent mirror technology and improved the very good GPS system of A55, and has impressive specs: Magnesium Alloy/Plastic body, a very outstanding electronic viewfinder (2.4 MP), a 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor (newly developed), 12fps full-resolution shooting, 19-point AF sensor (also this one has been newly developed) – 11 of these are cross-type sensors, plus a better phase-detection AF system, both in photo and video mode 1080p60 movies with autofocus, 1/8000s shutter speed, ISO 100 – 16,000 (25,600 with multi-image combination. Expands down to ISO 50), tilt/swivel 920k dot LCD screen.

More, Sony A77 has a new BIONZ processor and a new surprisingly fast electronic first curtain shutter that has an impressive responsiveness to users.

A dream comes true for Sony users: A77 offers a lot of customizable controls like AF fine-tuning, Auto ISO start-end limits tuning, profile-based correction of vignetting, chromatic aberrations and geometric distortion.
